Description
Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) has greater health benefits than other teas as the leaves are steamed during the production process.
Therefore the polyphenol Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is prevented from being oxidised and is more effective in preventing and fighting various diseases.
EGCG is a powerful antioxidant – considered to be at least 100 more times more effective than vitamin C, and 25 times more effective than vitamin E, and protects cells and DNA from damage.
There are four primary polyphenols in Camellia Sinensis and they are often collectively referred to as catechins which are powerful antioxidants
Catechins have been shown in recent studies to fight viruses, slow ageing and destroy free radicals that damage cells.
Camellia Sinensis is also know as Green Tea.
