Description

N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is commonly abbreviated to NAC, is a modified protein from the essential amino acid L-cysteine and a precursor in the formation of the antioxidant glutathione in the body.

Acetylcysteine was initially patented in 1960 and licensed for use in 1968.

It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, which lists the most important medication needed in a basic health system.

It has been found to be beneficial for those training hard and as a result causing oxidative stress, raising Glutathione levels can help to reduce any potential damage.

N- Acetyl L-Cysteine is also a cell detoxifier, which helps to support the function of the liver.
